Thank you for another meaningful week of ministry at Holy Cross MCC of Pensacola. Every week lives are changed by the extent of our welcoming message and by the message of God’s love and grace. Thanks for your participation in all of this with your time, talent, treasure and truth. You make the ministry of our church possible.
I look forward to seeing you this Saturday evening for our annual Christmas Banquet and Party beginning at 7:00PM. There’s still time for you to RSVP by clicking on this link Holy Cross Christmas Banquet & Party. We’ll have great food, excellent entertainment and plenty of door prizes. Come celebrate the season with your Holy Cross MCC family. We look forward to seeing you there.
Then next Sunday morning we will enjoy the beautiful Christmas musical offered by our choir, One Love. I’ve been around more than usual for our choir rehearsals, so I can tell you how beautiful this is going to be. Plan to bring here, bring some friends, and help us pack the house for this beautiful Christmas message and to support our wonderful choir. Sunday, December 20 during the 10AM Worship Celebration.
Our Christmas celebration with culminate with a moving very traditional Christmas Eve service on December 24 at 6:00PM. With traditional Christmas Carols, familiar biblical readings and so much more, we will celebrate the arrival of God’s greatest gift to the world – Jesus. We’ll end with candlelight and the singing of “Silent Night.” Christmas Eve is my favorite service of the year. Even before enjoying my family and friends, I need awhile to focus on these things – on the immeasurable depth of God’s love for us, on God’s willingness to send God’s child to us, and on the everlasting impact this gift has made on all of us. Let’s be here together on Christmas Eve to celebrate the love of God which includes all of us. I look forward to celebrating with you.
This week we turn or focus toward Joy. I’m immediately reminded of “Joy unspeakable…” “Joy to the World” “The joy of the Lord is my strength,” and so many other familiar phrases. What brings you joy this year? How do we find joy in a world that seems so out of control? Can we shout, “JOY” together again or has 2015 been just a little too difficult for that? “Joy,” that’s our focus for this Sunday. I hope you’ll be here to help us work it out together.
BE peace, BE joy and BE together this weekend at Holy Cross MCC of Pensacola. You are loved. You are worthy. You are welcome.
