Unity in the Community

 In Pastor's Message, Uncategorized

We did it!  This past Sunday we had a wonderful, peaceful and productive congregational meeting.  Thank you so much to all of you who participated and for your huge approval for the Board of Directors to move forward with Project Higher Ground.  And, our deep gratitude to all of you who made special contributions to cover the expense of our real estate attorney.  This is what happens when God’s people come together in community focused on shared ministry and mission.  Thank you again.

Another word of gratitude goes to those of you who are assisting with our church cleaning schedule.  You’re doing an amazing job keeping our church clean and orderly.  I hope many more will sign up to take a turn every now and then.  We can split up the tasks among several people and make the entire job a lot easier and faster.  The most common question seems to be “When do we come to clean.”  You are welcome any time the church office is open.  That’s Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 until 2.  If you need to make special arrangements outside those hours, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.  Thank you again for this tremendous service to our church.

This Sunday, Dr. Gail Atchison will be preaching one of her two final sermons as a Student Clergy Intern with us. I really like her sermon title, “The Pebbles of Life,” and look forward to hearing her preach again. I know you’ll want to be here to experience what God is doing through Gail.  Come and bring some friends.  The music has some wonderful highlights and will be fabulous, as always.

Watch your church calendar, the church website, the church Facebook page and each week’s edition of The GEM, so you are always informed about the many activities and ministries of Holy Cross MCC of Pensacola.  I look forward to seeing you in church and in the community.
