Gratitude

 In Pastor's Message

I will never be able to thank you enough for the special prayer of blessing and healing that you prayed over me this past Sunday.  I was overwhelmed.  I closed my eyes as soon as it started, so I did not realize how many of you surrounded me, prayed for me and blessed me with your love until Sunday evening when I saw the video of the service.  I’m writing to you from Gainesville right now, where I will undergo the procedure in the morning.  By the time you read this, I will be back in Pensacola.  I may have some idea about the results right away, but it will take a few days to get the final results.  Until then, if you will indulge me asking for a specific prayer, pleas pray for “all clear.”  Thank you again for the love you showed me on Sunday; you mean the world to me.

It’s time for us to assemble our Christmas Choir.  This year we will offer a very unique Christmas program complete with both modern and traditional music, actors, narration and gorgeous décor.  We need singers, actors, stage hands, decorators and readers for starters.  Here’s your first invitation to join us.  Please email me at revjim@holycrossmcc.com and let me know how you would like to join our team.  I promise, this is going to be so exciting and fun.  Email me today and we’ll get a schedule and plan to you right away.  I look forward to celebrating our third Christmas together.

This is the weekend when we say “farewell” to Dr. Gail Atchison.  She will be leading most of our worship service on Sunday, preaching and celebrating communion.  After the service we will have a cake reception for her in the Fellowship Hall.  Might I suggest that you bring a card, place a token of love in it, and share in this time during which we send Dr. Gail on her way toward ordination in Metropolitan Community Churches.

I look forward to being with you again on Sunday.  Have a safe and happy weekend and remember to invite some friends with you to church this weekend.  We’ll be glad you did.  Oh, and our colors for this Sunday are green and purple – not required, of course, but a fun way to join in if you choose.
