A Holy Union is the spiritual joining together of two persons in a holy covenant. It is a Rite in Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) administered by licensed clergy. At this time a Holy Union has no legal significance and is not considered a marriage in the State of Florida, however we believe it has great significance to God.

You will be issued a certificate signed by the clergy officiating, the parties joining together and two witnesses. Should either or/both parties wish to discontinue the covenant relationship it will require a Dissolution of Holy Union through MCC.

A sample of a standard ceremony is available for your review. The ceremony can be modified to accommodate special request or you may submit a ceremony of your choice to the clergy officiating at your service. The ceremony can be performed at a variety of places. There is a building usage fee for non-members as well as a fee to the clergy performing the service. Music can be live, tape or CD.

Our beautiful church was destroyed in hurricane Ivan. We are meeting in a temporary location while our building on Fairfield is renovated. Currently the building usage fee is $100.00 and is payable to Holy Cross MCC. We cannot offer space for your reception. For ceremonies booked in the new building the usage fee will be higher and reception space will be available. The current fee for the clergy is $100.00 and is payable directly to the Clergy officiating. All fees are payable before the beginning of the ceremony.

MCC's International Statement
on Marriage Equality

MCC has preached a three-pronged Gospel of salvation, community and social justice for 38 years and has worked together to make real a world of justice and equality...
We have celebrated more than 6000 same-sex and opposite-sex weddings around the globe every year...
We celebrate with our sisters and brothers who have already won the right to marry and/or civil partnerships...
Marriage equality is a civil rights and justice issue...
Most religions have their own requirements for entering into a valid marriage...
MCC believes that any person who wishes to enter into a civil marriage should have the right to do so...
Religious communities should have the right to decide whether or not it will provide religious services to sanctify that marriage...
We will use our religious voice and our churches to both promote and provide religious services and blessings for lesbian/gay couples who wish to sanctify their relationship before God...
We will use our resources to speak out against voices that would seek to demonize homosexuality and who are opposed to equal rights for same-gender couples and full marriage equality...
