Wedding Ceremony Policy
Purpose: Holy Cross Metropolitan Community Church (HCMCC) looks forward to celebrating your wedding day. This policy is intended to list the guidelines for successfully completing the preparation process with our clergy and staff.
Who will we Marry: HCMCC is a church that welcomes everyone. In general, our clergy prefer that couples seeking marriage have at least a six month history together. We do not discriminate based on the gender/sexual orientation of the couple.
Who can Officiate at our Wedding: The Senior Pastor of Holy Cross MCC or his designee officiates at all services of worship, including weddings. Outside clergy may, at the pastor’s discretion, be invited to participate in the wedding ceremony.
Music: All music must be appropriate to the church setting. While we are very flexible about that, the Senior Pastor’s decision about musical choices is final. HCMCC staff musicians have the first right of refusal for weddings.
Scheduling: In order to begin the process with us, couples must contact Confidential Assistant to the Pastor, Deb Brande at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the church telephone well in advance of the desired date, with six months’ notice strongly preferred.
How Much Does it Cost: A rental agreement must be completed with the Wedding Coordinator who is a representative of the HCMCC Board of Directors. The charges listed here are separate from the rental fees.
