What does Holy Cross MCC Believe and Teach?
As a member church of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community (UFMCC), Holy Cross MCC believes in mainstream Christian teachings as found in the Holy Bible and spelled out in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.
Members are encouraged to study about these things and develop a strong personal relationship with God. Details regarding differences of belief (such as divided Catholics and Protestants) are left to the individual to adapt to or adopt. Our services and ministry are therefore ecumenical in nature.
Is Holy Cross MCC a gay church?
No, it isn't. Holy Cross MCC is an open, friendly and affirming Christian Church. That means that we welcome all people, regardless of sexual orientation, race, economic and social standing, age, or any other factor. Though the majority in our congregation are homosexuals, bisexuals, and transgendered, not everyone is. We welcome all who wish to make MCC their house of worship.
Is Holy Cross MCC a non-denominational church?
No, and neither do we practice interfaith. We are a worldwide group of churches who adhere to mainstream Christian beliefs centering on the message of God's all-inclusive love. Though we welcome people of non-Christian faiths (and many do fellowship with us), we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When you have membership of thousands around the world who adhere to a standard of beliefs such as these, you automatically have a denomination. And since we have a developed church structure to add to that, we are a united and organized faith body, pressing forward to spread the Good News to all who will listen.
Does the Bible condemn homosexuality?
No, it does not. In fact Catholic and Protestant scholars now teach that such a condemnation was far from the intention of the original Bible writers. For more information on this topic, contact us.
